This is an essential on-demand course on treating addictions within couple and family systems. You will learn how to help couples develop a couple recovery through research-based tools and interventions designed specifically for couples impacted by an addictive disorder.

Assessment tools and strategies help couples to identify and address problematic substance use and compulsive behaviors. Therapeutic interventions are  aimed at providing a roadmap for couples to establish healthy boundaries and move from active problematic use and addiction to a couple recovery that addresses and supports three recoveries concurrently; each partner’s recovery, and the relationship recovery. 

This research-based workshop, designed by Dr. Navarra, is a required class for therapists and counselors who are in the Gottman Certification track, however, participants are not required to have any previous Gottman training. The class is 6.5 hours and includes a PDF manual that includes handouts available for clients as well as detailed lecture material covered in the video presentations. 

Dr. Navarra has presented live versions of this training nationally and internationally to treatment professionals at various treatment programs and in webinars sponsored by the Gottman Institute, Betty Ford Hazelden Foundation, and the National Association of Addiction Professionals (NAADAC).
